You also need an internet connection and a Quizard account, since the desktop app opens your Quizard workspace.
Install in three steps
On Mac
- Download the .dmg and open it.
- Drag Quizard into your Applications folder.
- Open Quizard from Applications. If macOS says the app is damaged, use the fix below.
On Windows
- Download the .msi and run it.
- If Windows shows a SmartScreen warning, choose More info, then Run anyway.
- Open Quizard from the Start menu.
macOS says “Quizard.app is damaged”?
The app is not damaged. macOS adds a quarantine flag to apps downloaded outside the App Store, and it can block ours from opening. One command in Terminal clears it.

Open Terminal
Press ⌘ Command + Space, type Terminal and press Enter.

Run this command
xattr -cr /Applications/Quizard.appThis assumes Quizard is in your Applications folder, which is where the install steps above put it.

Open Quizard again
If the command finishes without errors, open Quizard from Applications and it should start normally. We know about this issue and are working on a permanent fix. Until then, the web version works with no setup.
Continue on the web, on any device.
Everything in the desktop app is in the browser: courses and lectures, source-linked questions, the slide map, your daily session and the slide tutor.
Add it to your home screen
On iPhone, open Quizard in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, use the browser menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
Send iPad notes straight in
Use the Apple Shortcut or email to send Goodnotes and Notability PDFs to Quizard, then practise in the browser or the desktop app.
Same account everywhere
Your courses, progress and daily session are identical on web and desktop, so you can switch any time.

Is the desktop app different from the website?
It is the same Quizard in its own window, so you can keep it in your dock or taskbar. Your account, courses and progress are identical on every device.
Which versions are supported?
Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 and later) on macOS 10.15 or later, and 64-bit Windows 10 or later.
Is there an iPhone, iPad or Android app?
Not yet as a store app. Open Quizard in your browser and add it to your home screen for an app-like experience. On iPad you can also use the Apple Shortcut to send Goodnotes or Notability PDFs straight to Quizard.
Is the download free and safe?
Yes. It is free, and the installers are the same files we host here. If your system warns about an unidentified developer, you can allow it in your security settings.
macOS says Quizard.app is damaged. What do I do?
The app is not damaged. macOS quarantines apps downloaded outside the App Store. Open Terminal and run xattr -cr /Applications/Quizard.app, then open Quizard again. The full steps are on this page.
Does the desktop app work on Intel Macs?
This build is for Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and later). On an Intel Mac, use Quizard in your browser, which has every feature.
Do I need the app to use Quizard?
No. Everything works in the browser, including uploads, sessions and the slide map.
