Quizard vs ChatGPT
Many students already paste slides into ChatGPT, and it can do a good job, especially in study mode. What a chat does not do by itself is run a semester: it does not keep a schedule of what is due, keep every question linked to its slide, or tell you which slides you never practised. That is the gap Quizard fills. They also work together, because Quizard connects to ChatGPT through an MCP server.
ChatGPT is best at
- Explaining a concept in many different ways
- Study mode, which guides you with questions
- Almost any other task you can describe
Choose ChatGPT if you want a patient explainer for any subject, or you only need a quick quiz on one topic and no record of it afterwards.
Quizard is best at
- Turning your own slides into exam-style questions and cards
- Showing the source slide behind every item
- Showing which slides you have not covered
Choose Quizard if you want your whole course in one place, with every question tied to its slide, a schedule that brings back what you missed, and progress that carries across the semester.

When not to use Quizard
If you need an explanation from scratch, help with something outside your slides, or a one-off quiz the night before and nothing more, ChatGPT is the quicker choice. Our slide tutor deliberately answers only from your files.
Using both
Connect Quizard to ChatGPT through the MCP server and you can keep working in the chat while cards, quizzes and your review schedule are saved in Quizard. See the integrations page for what the connection can do.

Quizard vs ChatGPT: common questions
Can ChatGPT make practice questions from my lecture slides?
Yes. You can upload slides and ask for questions. Ask for the slide number and a supporting quote beside each answer, then spot-check them. Our guide to turning slides into practice questions has a prompt you can copy.
What is ChatGPT study mode?
It is a way of working in ChatGPT that asks guiding questions and explains step by step rather than giving the answer straight away. OpenAI says it is available on all plans, within each plan’s usual limits.
Why use Quizard if I already have ChatGPT?
For what happens after the first quiz: keeping every question tied to its slide, bringing back what you missed on a schedule, and showing what you have not covered. A chat can do parts of this if you manage it by hand.
Can I use Quizard inside ChatGPT?
Yes. Quizard has an MCP server that connects to ChatGPT and Claude, so an assistant can create cards and quizzes in your account and pull up what is due.
